Anticipate Dredging of Gas Pipelines and PDAM Pipes... Here's What to Do

INFOKU, BLORA -Anticipating a breach during dredging, the Gas Network pipe (Jargas) and the Regional Public Drinking Water Company (PDAM) Tirta Amerta pipe in the Jalan Sorogo drainage channel, Cepu District, have begun to be dismantled.

The plan will be moved temporarily during the drainage construction process .

  Wijayanto, one of the workers, said that he started digging manually using simple tools.

Because, around the Sorogo drainage channel there are gas network pipes and also PDAM water pipes that are connected to residential areas.

"It was dug to widen the drainage, because there were pipes buried in the drainage route," he explained.

He said that the pipe would be temporarily moved by Pertamina.

So that when you lower the heavy equipment it doesn't break and leaks occur.

Once the drainage widening is complete, it will be returned to its original condition. “He said he would be moved temporarily. "These pipes also include PDAM pipes," he said.

He explained that some time ago the PDAM pipe was hit by heavy equipment during dredging. According to him, the work he did was to  prevent  it from happening again.

"Yes, it was dug up and the plan was to move it as a precaution," he explained.

PDAM Tirta Branch Head Amerta Subiyanto confirmed in a statement to the press that some time ago a 6 inch PVC pipe in the Sorogo drainage channel was hit by heavy equipment.

However, this does not have an impact on water channel services to communities around the drainage area.

"It doesn't have an impact, because it hasn't been filled with water," he said.

Adit, a resident of Sorogo, admitted that the PDAM water supplied to residents' houses is still flowing.

He admitted that there were no complaints during the drainage construction process. In fact, I hope it will be finished soon before the rainy season comes.

"PDAM water is still flowing, hopefully the drainage project will be completed soon so that flooding does not occur again," he explained. (Endah/ IST )
