Efforts to Prevent Sexual Violence Against Children Supported by Commission D of the Blora DPRD

INFOKU, BLORA - Sexual violence   against children in  Blora  is a problem that is still talked about among the community to this day.

The local Regional People's Representative Council ( DPRD ), through Commission D, is committed to always supporting steps and efforts to prevent sexual violence against women and children.

This was proven by facilitating hearings with legal aid institutions (LBH) in Blora regarding the increasing cases of violence against children and women.

Member of Commission D, Achlif Nugroho Widi Utomo, said that his party always supports preventive measures against sexual violence against children.

The DPRD also created a legal umbrella in 2017. However, it is necessary to optimize the regional regulations by the relevant agencies.

"Blora is a child-friendly district (KLA) at the middle level and already has Regional Regulation Number 3 of 2017 concerning the Implementation of Protection for Women and Children Victims of Violence. "We must immediately optimize the things that are lacking in preventive efforts," he explained

This siding with victims of sexual violence is also marked by the readiness of the Blora DPRD in terms of budget distribution, such as the establishment of a Task Force for the Protection of Women and Children (PPA).

According to him, the task force could be an optimization of the PPA unit that has been established at the local Social Service.

''The formation (of the PPA Task Force) must reach the villages. "Regarding the source of funds, you can use the APBDes, from the sub-district, APBD, or from outside," he explained.

"We are also always open and never calculate the budget needed to optimize preventive efforts. "Please coordinate with the relevant agencies," he added.

His party will also invite cross-sectors to conduct group discussion forums (FGD) regarding violence against children and women. Apart from that, another point that is no less important is optimization regarding integrated service centers.

“It can be formed from elements of the government, APH and other elements of society. "Including from institutions that work in the field of violence against women and children," he said.

Meanwhile, Deputy Chairman of the DPRD, Blora Sakijan, also showed the same support.

According to him, cases of violence against children and women in Blora need a stronger legal umbrella. So that the handling and minimizing of cases can be maximized.
