The Prosecutor's Office Unravels the BRI Supervisor Case in Cepu Tilap Money of 26 Customers, Losses of IDR 1.5 Billion


INFOKU, BLORA  – An unscrupulous supervisor of BRI's Sidorejo Unit, Cepu Branch, had to deal with law enforcement officials.

The case involved misusing the money of 26 customersAs a result of his actions, losses to customers reached IDR 1.5 billion.

Until now, the perpetrator's son has been detained by the Blora State Prosecutor's Office.

Head of Intelligence at the Blora District Attorney's Office, Jatmiko, revealed to the press that 26 customers were victims with losses reaching Rp. 1.5 billion.

"The perpetrator has the initials YBN. He is serving as BRI supervisor at the Sidorejo Unit at the moment, we have detained the suspect since last Tuesday, July 4," he explained.

Jatmiko added that YBS had been named a suspect since June 26, 2023.

Suspected by Articles 2 and 3 of the Corruption Law. His party then conducted an examination on Tuesday (4/7). After the investigation was completed, the perpetrator was immediately arrested.

"We are holding it at the investigative stage based on sprindika," he explained.

Jatmiko said the proceeds from the misuse of customer funds by BRI Unit Sidorejo supervisors were used for personal gain. 

Losses are calculated to reach Rp 1.5 billion. Starting from December 2022-March 2023.

"Used for the perpetrator's personal interests, the accumulation of customer money for 4 months," he explained.

The head of the BRI Cepu Branch Office, Mochamad Arief Raharjo, confirmed that customer funds that were misused by unscrupulous persons at the BRI Unit Sidorejo had been returned to 26 customer accounts.

"We ensure that the funds have been returned to the customer's account," he explained.

He added that the case currently being handled by the Blora State Prosecutor's Office was an initiative report from BRI. Creating a work environment that is free from fraud and other forms of irregularities. (Endah / IST )
