INFOKU, BLORA - From the data obtained it turns out that the position of village head (kades) is still dominated by men. Until now, there have been around 8.5 percent or 23 female village heads spread across 271 villages.
Even so, women's hopes to advance in regional elections have never subsided. In the simultaneous Pilkades in 27 villages on July 8, there will be a number of female Cakades.
The head of the Blora Community and Village Empowerment Service (DPMD), Yayuk Windrati, explained that women have the opportunity to run for Pilkades in 27 villages.
From the data in their possession of several villages holding the pilkades, there were female candidates who appeared. They competed for the votes with the male candidate for head of village.
"If there are 23 female village heads who are already in office," he said.

Yayuk said that in the regions there was no female village head association. The female village head must be more sensitive to the problems of women in the village.
This is because women in village policies are still included in a marginal group. So it needs to be empowered with village head programs.
"Women as a marginal group must be able to fight for women's interests. Not only for female village heads, because it is the obligation for all village heads to pay more attention to the needs of marginalized people," he said.
