INFOKU, BLORA – This year Blora district received a surprise on Eid al-Adha from two national figures, namely President Jokowi & Presidential Candidate Gerindra Prabowo Subiyanto.
President Joko Widodo sent a cow for sacrifice to Dukuh Gumiring, Sidomulyo Village, Banjarejo District, Blora Regency, Central Java.
The simmental cattle weighing more than one ton were sent from Ungaran to the village of football player Pratama Arhan, on Wednesday (28/6/2023) at 05.00 WIB.
Head of the Animal Health Division (Kabid Keswan) for the Food, Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries Service (DP4) of Blora Regency, Tejo Yuwono said President Jokowi's cow was in good health.

"I was checked by a doctor, thank God, they are healthy, starting from the outside, including natural cavities, all the mouth teeth are poweled. This means that he is over 2.5 years old or three years and over," said Tejo, in Dukuh Gumiring, Desa Sidomulyo, on Wednesday (28/6/2023).
Tejo, who is a veterinarian, explained that cows that have just arrived at the location must be given food and drink as usual.
However, 8 hours before the cow is slaughtered, the takmir of the mosque is not allowed to feed the animal.
"My takmir management left a message before the cows were slaughtered for at least 8 to 12 hours of fasting, in the sense that they were only given a drink," he explained.
He said, before being slaughtered, cows need to be fasted to facilitate cleaning of the digestive organs and part of animal welfare.
"It is hoped that in this way the meat produced will be maximal, because whatever the conditions of the ante mortem examination, it is already good.

When it's cut, the treatment also has an effect, so don't stress the animal, tackle it violently and so on," he said.
It is planned that the simmental cattle will be slaughtered on Thursday (29/6/2023) after the Eid al-Adha prayer at the Roudhotul Jannah Mosque, Dukuh Gumiring, Sidomulyo Village.
Apart from Jokowi's cows, the mosque will also slaughter 3 cows and 5 goats for sacrifice.

Meanwhile, General Chairperson of the Gerindra Party, Prabowo Subianto, handed over a sacrificial cow to the Nurul Hidayah Islamic Boarding School, which is in Bacem Village, Banjarejo District, Blora Regency, Central Java.
Gerindra Blora Party Branch Leadership Council (DPC) chairman Djoko Nugroho said he received a mandate from Prabowo Subianto to hand over a limousine cow to Subhan Ali or Gus Ali as the leader of the Islamic boarding school.

"I came here with Pak Candra and DPD got a messenger from Pak Prabowo to hand over this sacrificial cow to Gus Ali so that it can be used for the people around here," said Kokok, his nickname, to journalists at the location, Wednesday (28/6/2023) .
Kokok, who has served as Regent of Blora for two terms, said Prabowo Subianto had carried out the distribution of sacrificial animals in Blora several times.
Prabowo once distributed sacrificial cows to Cepu and Bogorejo Districts.
"Yes, this is a routine activity for Pak Prabowo and of course the Gerindra Party to share happiness. Something fun during Eid al-Adha. Every year it's like this and this time it falls at the Nurul Hidayah Islamic Boarding School led by Gus Ali," he said. "Hopefully, thank you Pak Prabowo, Pak Ketum Gerindra for the cows, God willing, it will be useful and blessed," he added.
He said Prabowo distributed as many as 50 sacrificial cows throughout Central Java, one of which was to Blora Regency.
"The cow is a limousine, weighing about 800 kilograms. This cow is from a local Blora breeder that was bought by Pak Prabowo. And we are using our breeders so that we can both benefit," he explained.
Meanwhile, Subhan Ali or Gus Ali thanked the Gerindra Party for giving a cow to his Islamic boarding school.
"I thank you profusely for what has been entrusted to us. To Mr. Prabowo, I hope it will be made easy for him at every step. May Allah give him strength and blessings," he added.
Apart from getting a cow from Prabowo Subianto, the Islamic boarding school which has around 250 students will also slaughter another cow and 8 goats. (Endah / IST / IST )
