Central Java Regional Police Close Ledok Blora Well Drilling, Miners Ask for Follow-up

INFOKU, BLORA   The drilling of an oil mine that is not in accordance with the regulations makes the workers of the Ledok well, Sambong District, Blora Regency, restless.

Hartoyo, a resident of the Ledok well worker, made this statement to journalists on Thursday, May 25, 2023.

According to Hartoyo, the Ledok oil mine which is under the auspices of PT Blora Patra Energi (BPE) has now been closed by the Central Java Regional Police Special Crimes Sub-Directorate (Tipiter) using the police  line  since last April.

"Our hope is that the Ditreskrimsus Polda Central Java will immediately follow up on this case. Because from yesterday before fasting until now there has been no resolution, "he said.

He explained, the case of closing the Ledok well at LDK 27 point started with investors drilling for oil at an inappropriate point.

This is dangerous, because it is feared that oil will flow out on its own and eventually have a big impact like the Lapindo tragedy in Sidoarjo, East Java.

He said that a cooperation contract had been established between PT Pertamina EP and PT BPE as the BUMD of Blora Regency.

At the beginning of last February, PT BPE stated that they were ready to take responsibility for all risks and losses due to the implementation of  well services  in the Ledok field on the LDK 27 well.

“Our group did the job of scooping up this old well according to procedures. But beside me are investors, with a point that must not be changed. It is not permissible to drill a new location, it must be at a specified point and that has been regulated in the Regulation of the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources No. 1 of 2008 concerning Guidelines for Oil Mining Concession in Old Wells," he explained to journalists.

It was explained, the location named LDK 27 was worked on by an investor with the approval of PT BPE with a different location according to the specified coordinates.

This then creates problems that affect other mining workers who comply with the regulations.

Because of that, his party hopes that the case of the Ledok 27 well can be resolved by the Central Java Police so that other oil workers can return to work safely according to regulations.

Meanwhile, the Crime Sub-Directorate of the Central Java Regional Police's Criminal Investigation Unit is still investigating the alleged crime that occurred in the Ledok Field area.

Monitored until Thursday, May 25 2023,  the police line  is still installed at that location.

The police line, which has been installed by officers since early April, is attached to the drilling machine and drill bits that are still at the location.

There are at least around 50 drill bits and 5 casings that are still left in the area because the investigation process is still ongoing.

For your information, previously the South Kendeng Regional Police and Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Office had measured the coordinates to see conditions in the field.

As a result, the Polda found that the well drilling was similar to drilling groundwater near the old well.

The Ditreskrimsus of the Central Java Regional Police have also examined dozens of people regarding the suspected problem of oil drilling in the Ledok Field.

The inspection is for controlling old wells in the forest area.

"During the inspection, it was also found that there were wells drilled with drills similar to groundwater drilling that were allegedly used to drill new wells around the old wells," explained the Head of Energy Section of the ESDM Office for South Kendeng Region, Central Java Province, Sinung Sugeng Arianto recently.

At that time, the permit granted by PT Pertamina EP to BPE was indeed to service old wells. However, in practice, BPE through PPMSTL (Old Ledok Oil Mining Association) drilled at point 27 using a drilling machine with the KOKEN brand (CR-2B) of the  rotary hydraulic spindle type  made in 2002.

When confirmed, the Acting Main Director of PT BPE Prima Segara admitted that he was not aware of  a police line  at one of the well points in the Ledok Field. His party delegated to confirm to PPMSTL. (Endah / IST )
