It is known that President Joko Widodo visited the Mendenrejo Market in Blora Regency, as well as to directly check the prices of a number of food commodities.
"Yes, this is Mendenrejo Market in Kradenan District, Blora, this is a remote market, so we also need to check prices," said the President in his statement after the inspection.
According to him, the prices of a number of foodstuffs at the Mendenrejo Market are well monitored.
For example, shallots are observed to be in the price range of Rp. 30,000/Kg and palm oil is stable in the price range of Rp. 14,000 - Rp. 15,000.
"Earlier I saw the price was good, even earlier the shallots cost only Rp. 30,000. The others I saw yesterday were up to Rp. 38 and Rp. 40,000, while here it was only Rp. 30,000. I also saw good oil, Rp. 14,000 to Rp. Rp. 15,000. I think the prices are still in good condition here, even though they are in remote areas," he explained.
Apart from checking prices, the President also checked the availability of these food ingredients, especially ahead of the holy month of Ramadan. "We want to check that. What are the conditions, is there stock or not, is there supply or not, what is the price like," he added.
Regarding market conditions, the President considered that the Mendenrejo Market was still in good condition.
Even so, the President will order the Minister of Public Works and Public Housing to build it.
"(The condition) is still good, but it doesn't matter that I will later order the Minister of Public Works to build it," he said.
Meanwhile, Mbah Rati, one of the traders at the Mendenrejo Market, said he was happy that the Menden market was inspected directly by the President.
