INFOKU, BLORA –Three mining companies have just been recorded as having permits but in reality there are many illegal C quarrying mines in the area.
Environmental activists reject the addition of mining permits, because it is not worth the negative impact received by the region and the welfare of the residents.
Head of the South Kendeng Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Office Branch, Teguh Yudi Pristiyanto, explained that the data on the distribution of C quarry mines in areas that currently have permits are only three companies. Spread in Todanan and Cepu Districts.
"Those who already have permits are allowed to carry out mining activities," he said yesterday (1/12).
According to Teguh, there are 9 companies currently in the exploration process, namely investigations and feasibility studies to allow mining.
According to him, there are still many illegal C excavations operating. However, he said he had no data. Because illegal mining data needs reports from the public.
"We have data for mining C which is illegal. If the benefits are he pays taxes and provides CSR to the community around the mine," he explained.
Meanwhile, Eko Arifiyanto, an environmental activist in Blora, questioned the benefits of expanding the C quarry in the region.
Because, as long as there is a mine, only a handful of people benefit. While the community gets a negative impact.

"If you do the math, the negative impact is bigger than the positive for regional income," he explained.
Especially at this time, the tragedy of flooding is hitting several sub-districts in Blora.
Limestone mining, according to him, is a contributor to many natural disasters.
He and several other friends concerned with the environment refused to dig C in the area to be reproduced.
"We reject the existence of a C quarry. Even if there are many benefits for the residents, let's do the calculations in detail," he challenged in the agenda of the Mine C Workshop for People's Welfare at the Regency Government Pendapa yesterday (1/12).
Meanwhile, Member of the Republic of Indonesia DPR Riyanta who was present at the agenda explained that natural use in the regions must pay attention to conservation. So that this natural resource is sustainable.
Riyanta asked the public to be aware that when the forest is damaged, a disaster will occur.
"The government must be firm and present and strong in law enforcement," he said. ( Endah / IST )
