INFOKU, BLORA - Analog TV broadcasts will be stopped as of Wednesday, November 2, 2022, at 24.00 WIB via the Analog Switch Off (ASO) program for the Jabodetabek area and then hundreds of other cities will follow.
Kominfo will migrate analog TV broadcasts to digital in three stages, starting from April 30, 2022, August 25, 2022, and the third stage on November 2, 2022.
The public is also asked to immediately switch to digital broadcasting which requires a Set Top Box (STB).
In the migration to digital TV, the government through Kominfo distributed free STB to the public.
The condition is that the recipient must be included in the category of a poor family. STB is a decoder that converts digital signals into images and sound.
With STB, digital TV shows can still be displayed on analog television.
Not all TV sets need STB. Only analog TVs and TVs are not equipped with the DVB-T2 feature, which requires STB to be installed.
However, the average new television output is equipped with DVB-T2.

Nationally, the STB has been distributed to 1 million poor households in various regions.
For the Jabodetabek area, he continued, the government had distributed 479,307 units of STB as of November 1 (98.7 percent).
Apart from the government, STB will also be distributed free of charge by a number of television station owners as part of the CSR program.
