INFOKU, BLORA -Thousands of fish seeds were stocked by Blora Regent Arief Rohman at Randugunting Dam, Kalinanas Village, Japah District, Saturday (2/4/2022).
As is known, the Randugunting Dam was inaugurated by President Joko Widodo in early January 2022.
The fish seed stocking activity was carried out by the Regent of Blora Arief Rohman at the floating dock accompanied by the Regional Secretary Komang Gede Irawadi, Assistant for Economics and Development, Hariyanto, Head of the Food, Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and Fisheries Service (DP4), drh. R. Gundala Wijasena and related OPD.
From the edge of the floating pier, one by one plastic bags containing fish fry are released into the free water. Beginning with the regent, followed by the Regional Secretary, and the relevant OPD Heads.
“Alhamdulillah, after being inaugurated by the President in early January, now the water is getting more and more and the puddles are starting to appear. Even earlier on the new bridge from Gaplokan to Kalinanas there was already a large puddle. For this reason, we are stocking fish with DP4 so that an inland water ecosystem is immediately created here," said Arief Rohman.
There are 12 thousand fish , there are tilapia and catfish. He hopes that these fish can grow big and in the future can be an alternative fishing spot for the general public.
"I saw earlier that someone was starting to fish near the bridge there. Please Pak Kades and the manager can prohibit fishing with nets or poison, you can take fish but by fishing," he continued.
Arief Rohman believes that in the future the Randugunting Dam will be able to become a leading tourist attraction in Blora Regency, and stimulate the economy of the surrounding community.
"Meanwhile, the park and office arenas cannot be opened to the public, so visitors are only in the western area. We hope that when it is ready, the park can also be opened to the public by BBWS Pemali Juana. Moreover, there was also an orchard, bird cages, and a number of sports facilities," he added.
Head of DP4, drh. R. Gundala Wijasena explained that the number of fish stocked for each was 10 thousand tilapia, while the catfish were 2 thousand.
"We continue to encourage inland fisheries in Blora Regency. In addition to supporting the development of fisheries, it is also to make it easier for people to obtain fish to support nutritional fulfillment. Because eating fish can prevent stunting," said Gundala.
Meanwhile, Hendrawati, a representative of BBWS Pemali Juana, as the manager of the Randugunting Dam, thanked and appreciated the support of the Blora Regency Government in developing fisheries at that location.
"After being given brood fish by the President, and last week the Deputy Minister of PUPR also released fish. Now added 12 thousand fish seeds by the regent and his entourage. Hopefully the fish can grow big and become a healthy fishery ecosystem that is beneficial for the sustainability of the dam, as well as the community," said Hendrawati.
According to Hendrawati, currently the water reservoir in the Randugunting Dam has reached 5.8 million cubic meters of water. So there is still the potential to increase again because the maximum capacity reaches 14 million cubic meters of water.
Also present on this occasion were the Head of Bappeda, Secretary of Dinporabudpar, Forkopimcam Japah, Head of Kalinanas Village, and representatives of the surrounding community. (Setyorini/KOM)
