INFOKU, BLORA -Athe President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo to deal with the Omicron waveis ready to be implemented by Blora Regency.
This was conveyed by the Deputy Regent of Blora Tri Yuli Setyowati, after participating in a virtual national coordination meeting held by the President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo with all regional heads, both provincial and district levels throughout Indonesia, Monday (7/2/2022).
Accompanied by the Minister of Setkab, Minister of Home Affairs, and Minister of Health, President Jokowi conveyed two things that needed special attention from the regions along with the Forkopimda ranks.
“The omicron wave has arrived in Indonesia, and currently the largest cases are in Java and Bali. In fact, the transmission is four times faster than the delta. However, the hospital occupancy rate and the Case Fatality Rate are still low. This indicates that the vaccine is quite effective in suppressing the impact of Omicron, so we need to take two important steps," said the President.
Vaccinations & Healthcare
“The first is to speed up vaccination immediately. We must continue to push for complete doses of vaccinations to boosters. Put the elderly first. I see that there are still many areas where the vaccination for the elderly is still below 60 percent. Please TNI and Polri can help the local government to boost this," said the President.
If there is a shortage of vaccine stocks in the regions, the President asked the regional heads to communicate directly with the Minister of Health so that the stocks will be sent immediately.
“Besides vaccination, the second point I want to convey is to re-emphasize public compliance with health protocols. Especially the use of masks, this is important.
It doesn't take much, just those two things, please pay close attention. I hope that the regional heads and elements of the TNI and Polri can work together for the two points mentioned above, "said the President.
