INFOKU, YOGYAKARTA -TheTourism Office (Dispar) stated that it has no plans to close any tourist attractions in its area. Although there have been findings of a number of probable Omicron Covid-19 cases in the region.
"Until today, there is no (plan to close a tourist attraction). We are still continuing to open tourist attractions and receive tourist visits," said Head of the DIY Tourism Office, Singgih Raharjo to the media crew, Saturday (29/1/2022).
Even so, said Singgih, his party remains wary of the distribution of the Omicron variant in the DIY region. According to him, two more years of dealing with the Covid-19 pandemic could be a valuable experience.
Plus, of course, with an increase in the mitigation of the Covid-19 case itself.
In this case, the implementation of health protocols (prokes) must be prioritized by all parties, especially tourism managers and tourists.

Singgih said that the tourism sector is also continuing to make efforts to reduce the spread of Covid-19 cases in the DIY region. Including in terms of human resources, tourism managers should always remind tourists who come about health promotions.
"We continue to improve our tourism human resources but tourists must also be disciplined in implementing the Covid-19 protocol, yes. Tourists must be aware and work together to implement health protocols," he stressed.
All the anticipation efforts were made by Dispar DIY not without reason. Because considering that DIY itself is one of the tourism destinations in Indonesia.
This condition also began to be seen in January heading to next February. If those months are usually quiet, tourist visits this year show an anomaly.
"In fact, in January and February, tourist visits in the DIY area are crowded," he said.
Although indeed, said Singgih, his own agency has not set further tourist targets until now. However, efforts to continue to encourage increased tourist visits remain.
