Anticipating Illegal Logging, Police Activate Forest Patrol

INFOKU, BLORA –In order to prevent illegal logging and anticipate natural disasters, the Blora Police of the Central Java Police carried out patrols to forest areas.

Blora Police Chief AKBP Wiraga Dimas Tama said that patrols were carried out in 16 line police stations throughout Blora district.

In addition to anticipating the theft of state timber, patrols also aim to anticipate natural disasters such as floods, landslides and hurricanes that may occur in villages on the outskirts of the forest. As was done by the Bogorejo Police, Monday (3/1/2022).

Using a Strada patrol vehicle, Bogorejo Police officers patrolled the forest area to the border of the Kenduruan sub-district, Tuban Regency, East Java.

Bogorejo Police Chief AKP Nur Dwi Edi explained that during the forest patrol, his party also conveyed security and social security messages to communities around the forest that members encountered while on duty.

"While patrolling, we convey an appeal to the public to always be alert to natural disasters. Especially at this time of the rainy season. It is prone to natural disasters such as landslides and hurricanes," said the police chief.

To preserve the forest and the environment, he advised the residents to take an active role in protecting the environment, as well as the existing forest area. Because if the environment is maintained properly, it can prevent the occurrence of natural disasters.

"Let's protect the environment together, if you clean or clear land parcels in the forest, please don't burn them. Because it can cause forest and land fires," said the Bogorejo Police Chief. (Setyorini/POL)
