INFOKU, JAKARTA - Government Spokesperson for Covid-19, Dr. Reisa Broto Asmoro, said that the corona virus case in Indonesia was now under control.
This is in line with the decline in the number of Covid-19 cases, which has decreased significantly compared to the emergency PPKM period.
It is known last July, the daily confirmed cases reached tens of thousands.
However, December can now be reduced to below 400 new cases per day.
The occupancy of the Covid-19 referral hospital is also below 10 percent. Well below the maximum limit of 60 percent.
The death rate is also decreasing because the recovery rate is getting higher.
"Even last Sunday, we recorded one death rate due to Covid-19. And more than 96 percent of cases or more than 4.1 million people recovered," said Reisa at a virtual press conference, Sunday (11/5/2021).
Reisa also said that the ability of 3T or testing, tracing and treatment is getting higher, which is around 200,000 per day.
On the other hand, vaccination coverage is getting encouraging. Nearly half of the targets have already met the vaccination targets and received the full vaccine.
While more than 40 million other people have been vaccinated for the first dose.
Indonesia has a target of around 208 million people being given the Covid-19 vaccine.
"Most of our 514 regencies and cities are currently in PPKM level one and two. This means that the control of the spread of Covid-19 is good. And 6 main indicators and vaccination achievements are in the good category," said Reisa.
Now the Covid-19 virus also has a new variant called Omicron.
"A lot is not yet known with this variant. Is it getting more virulent, deadly, or weakened and the body's resistance is too strong for the virus. But what we know is that the prevention method remains the same," said Reisa. (Mughnii/IST/DARING)
