INFOKU, BLORA – From January to June 2026, the Blora Religious Court (PA) received 83 applications for marriage dispensation (diska).
The majority of applications are submitted because the prospective bride is already pregnant.
The Acting Clerk of the Blora Religious Court, Fitri Istiawan, said that the diska is only intended for prospective brides and grooms who have not yet met the minimum age limit for marriage, which is 19 years.
Every application must go through a trial process before being decided.
"Marriage dispensations are not automatically granted. The judge will examine all the reasons presented. Unless there are urgent circumstances, the request can be denied," he told the press.
According to Fitri, pregnancy is one of the most common emergency reasons cited by applicants. However, judges still carefully consider each case, including the background of the pregnancy, the psychological readiness of the prospective bride and groom, the child's right to education, and the financial ability to build a household.

"It's not just about whether the bride and groom are pregnant. The judge also considers the mental and psychological readiness, education, and economic capabilities of both prospective brides and grooms," he explained.
He also explained that if the relationship between the two prospective brides and grooms is still within reasonable limits and no pressing conditions are found, the judge will ask them to wait until they meet the marriage age requirements.
In the trial, the panel of judges can also consider the role of parents.

If parents are found to have facilitated the marriage of an underage child without justifiable grounds, this can also be grounds for rejection of a marriage license application. (Endah/ IST )
