INFOKU, BLORA -The case of burning rubbish in Jejeruk Village, Blora District, Blora Regency, which involved an elderly couple, Sujimah (70) and Pandi (75), who were defendants in the Blora District Court.
This was the result of an argument and alleged assault with neighbors due to being disturbed by garbage fumes. This case was finally agreed to be resolved peacefully through a restorative justice mechanism in court.
And finally the Blora District Court sentenced him to 1 month of supervision, and not to detention, on Wednesday, 29/07/26.
The incident began on June 3, 2025 in the defendant's yard, and smoke from burning garbage triggered a misunderstanding and heated argument between neighbors.
The argument ended in a fistfight which resulted in both parties suffering injuries.
After that, it went to court at the Blora District Court, after initial mediation had reached a dead end.
Then, on July 14, 2026, the court ratified the peace agreement (restorative justice) facilitated by the prosecutor's office.
"We also did not expect that, after being charged for 2 months by the Prosecutor's Office, and the Judge continuing the trial after a suspension, the defendant was finally sentenced to one month of supervision," said Agung Handi, the defendant's legal team from the Gerindra Party.

Regarding the decision, the Defendant and Public Prosecutor stated that they accepted the decision and did not file any legal action. (Endah)
