Three Kunduran residents were burned after an LPG cylinder leaked and was exposed to embers during installation.

INFOKU, BLORA - The explosion of a 3 kilogram LPG gas cylinder  resulted in three residents of Bakah Village,  Kunduran District ,  Blora Regency  suffering  burns , last Wednesday afternoon (4/3) at around 16.00 WIB.  

Victims SY, 35; SJ, 39; and S, 45, are currently undergoing  medical treatment  .

The incident occurred in SY's kitchen when he was about to install  a  newly purchased gas cylinder .

Blora Police Chief AKBP Wawan Andi Susanto  through Kunduran Police Chief Iptu Budi Santoso explained that initially SY asked for help from his friend SJ to install  a gas cylinder regulator  in his kitchen.

However, during the installation process, the tube is suspected of leaking.

At the same time, there are still embers  from  the   traditional cooking stove or stove.

"The gas that came out immediately caught fire in the kitchen, causing it to hit the victim's body," he told  the press yesterday (5/3).

As a result of the incident, SY suffered burns to around 54 percent, while SJ suffered burns to 64 percent.

Meanwhile, S, who was trying to help, was also hit by the fire and suffered burns to around 10 percent of his body.

Police officers and members  of the Koramil  immediately went to the location after receiving a report from village officials.

The police also conducted a crime scene investigation (TKP) and secured a number of pieces of evidence.

"The victims have received medical treatment. Two victims with quite serious injuries are still undergoing intensive care," he explained.

Police urge the public to be more careful when installing  LPG gas cylinders .

Residents are asked to ensure that there are no open flames, such as cigarettes or burning fireplaces, when replacing gas cylinders.
