The house of a village official in Ngampel was completely destroyed by fire, causing estimated losses of Rp70 million.

INFOKU, BLORA -A fire disaster destroyed the house belonging to S (52), a village official who serves as Head of Tambakselo Hamlet, Ngampel Village, Blora District, on Saturday (28/03/2026) early morning. 

The fire is strongly suspected to have originated from an electrical short circuit in a non-standard cable installation.

The tragic incident occurred at around 00.00 WIB. Based on witness statements at the location, the fire was first noticed by the victim's neighbor, TW (34), who woke up from his sleep after hearing a rumbling sound and explosions coming from the victim's house.

When the witness left the house, the fire was found to have grown and burned down the house which was empty at that time.

Blora Police Chief AKBP Wawan Andi Susanto, through Blora Police Chief AKP Nur Dwi Edie, confirmed the incident.

His party immediately deployed the Criminal Investigation Unit and SPKT to the location along with the fire brigade team upon receiving the report from the Head of Ngampel Village.

"After receiving the report, our members, along with the fire brigade and the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), immediately went to the scene to extinguish the fire. The fire was completely extinguished at around 1:00 a.m. WIB, preventing it from spreading further into residential areas," said AKP Nur Dwi Edie.

As a result of this incident, a 6 x 12 meter house made of wood and walls was completely burned down by 90 percent.

Apart from the building, a number of belongings such as two wooden cupboards and their contents, two sets of tables and chairs, a bed, and kitchen equipment could not be saved.

Crime Scene Investigation

The total material losses experienced by the victim are estimated to reach IDR 70,000,000 (seventy million rupiah).

Based on the results of the initial crime scene investigation carried out by the Blora Police Criminal Investigation Unit, the source of the fire was confirmed to have come from an electrical failure.

"The preliminary conclusion is that the fire originated from a short circuit in a non-standard stranded cable connection in the upper part of the bedroom," added the Blora Police Chief.

The police confirmed that there were no fatalities in the incident.

In response to this disaster, the Blora Police have urged the public to be more careful in paying attention to the electrical installations in their homes, especially the use of cables that comply with PLN standards (SNI) to prevent similar disasters from occurring. (Endah)
