One of the local residents, Nur, said that the landslide had been going on for the past five months and was still continuing.

He suspected that there was a water flow in the ground which triggered erosion from below the surface.

Local residents have been attempting to fill in the soil daily to stem the flow of the landslide, but these efforts have been unsuccessful.

Another resident, Sayid, said that the incident that hit his house happened twice in the last month.

So, he repaired it with whatever tools he had to keep the house stable.

"The first incident occurred in the afternoon, causing a wall to collapse. Then, the second incident occurred at night, and there was a loud noise. I saw that the back of the house was damaged and a pillar was hanging off," he explained.

He added that, to date, his team has not been consulted with the village or regional government regarding the situation. He hopes this incident will end soon and prevent it from escalating further.

"There hasn't been any discussion yet. I'm currently taking emergency measures. My house is about 70 meters from  the Lusi River ," he added.

To prevent further erosion, residents had to make temporary patches using scrap wood to support the foundations so that the poles remained aligned.

As a result of this incident, three houses of residents around the location were affected and have the potential to suffer more serious damage if not handled immediately.
