Relocation of Residents Affected by the Karangnongko Dam is Being Attempted on KHDTK Land

INFOKU, BLORA – Until this news was written,land acquisitionfor residents affected by  the Karangnongko Dam  had not been completed.

Meanwhile,  the Blora Regency Government  is still trying to lobby Gajah Mada University ( UGM ) so that residents whose land is affected can be relocated not far from the area or on  KHDTK land .

It is known that the district government has proposed the Special Purpose Forest Area (KHDTK) managed by UGM as a  relocation site for  residents whose land is affected by the national strategic project.

 Blora  Regent Arief Rohman  said that the construction of the Karangnongko Dam is currently underway.

According to him, the Blora Regency Government is lobbying UGM so that communities affected by the dam construction can be relocated to the surrounding area.

"In principle, the Blora Regency Government will fully support this program," he said. Arief emphasized that the relocation near the dam area aims to preserve history and the integrity of social institutions that have been established over generations within the village. "This will maintain the history and social ties of the residents," he explained.

Meanwhile, Kradenan Sub-district Head Tarkun added that the Karangnongko Dam project is still in progress.

Currently, land acquisition for affected residents is still being carried out by officers.

"Land acquisition is not yet complete," he said.

The Head of Ngrawoh Village, Kradenan District, Purwondo, revealed that residents want relocation not far from their original village, or in the KHDTK UGM area.

"If the KHDTK UGM forest is adjacent to our village, hopefully it won't be far from the village," he said.

Of course, residents affected by the relocation need new housing, because what is affected is not only yards and gardens, but also residents' homes.
