INFOKU, BLORA -There is a folk tale behind the existence of the stone which tells of a newlywed couple, who were cursed to turn into stone because they defecated carelessly.
Its name is Watu Nganten or Bridal Stone in Blora Regency, which is believed to be sacred by some people.
The Watu Nganten site is located on the edge of the public cemetery in Ngelobener Hamlet, Jepon Village, Jepon District, Blora Regency.
By local residents, the stone under the banyan tree was made into a simple shade with wooden pillars and a tiled roof.

There are five jugs near Watu Nganten. Three of them are located on a stone ledge.
Two other jugs were below, one of which was broken.
According to the story, Batu Nganten was originally a place for two newly married lovebirds.
The bride is from Brumbung Village, Jepon District, Blora.
The groom is from Dukuh Ngelobener, Jepon, Blora.

It is said that the wedding was held at the bride's house.
After that, a week later there will be a ngunduh mantu event at the groom's house.
On the way home from his wife's house, the groom defecated in the open.
According to Javanese custom, after sepasar (five days) the bride is sent home to the groom's parents' house.
But what happened was that they were not accompanied or went home alone.
Then rest near a tree and pee.

But suddenly it disappeared and what happened was that there was a stone near the tree.
From that incident, this story emerged from generation to generation.
So that until now there is a belief that marriages are not permitted between residents of Brumbung Village and residents of Ngelobener Hamlet, Jepon Subdistrict.
And until now Watu Nganten is known as a sacred place to honor ancestors.
