Four Houses in Todanan Burned Down by Fire, Allegedly Due to Electrical Short Circuit

INFOKU, BLORA –Sad news befell two families in Kajengan Village,  Todanan District . 

Four houses inhabited by two families were completely burned down on Wednesday night (25/6).

Two houses belong to Ahmad Fauzi, 31. And, the remaining two houses belong to Sutrisno, 40.

The cause of  the fire  is still unknown, but it is suspected to have been caused  by an electrical short circuit  .

There were no fatalities, but losses were estimated at IDR 400 million.

Head of the Fire Fighting Section (Kasi)  of the Blora  Satpol PP  Fire Department  , Mimintari Sulistiyorini, said that the fire occurred at around 18.30 WIB.

"We received the report a few minutes after the incident. It is suspected to be an electrical short circuit from the lights," he explained.

Officers struggled to tame  the raging fire  for approximately two hours, until  the fire was finally  extinguished.

"We were only able to extinguish the fire at around 21.00 WIB," he added.

He explained that initially Fauzi was in the room. The victim heard an explosion from the lamp in the next room.

"According to the victim's testimony, it was from the sound of the lamp that was about to be replaced. However, when it was removed, it was forgotten to be turned off. Finally, it shorted out," he said.

Mimin also said, when his team headed to the location, the condition of the house was already half burned. He admitted, the distance of the fire station was very far from the location.

“It’s really far. About half an hour (trip). We do lack a post. There is no post in Todanan. We launched from Ngawen Post,” he explained.

He also said that there were no fatalities in the incident. However, losses are estimated at hundreds of millions of rupiah.

"Four houses burned down. Nothing left. Estimated loss of Rp 400 million," he said.  (Endah/ IST )
