INFOKU, BLORA –It seems that awareness of waste management through waste banks in each village is still low.
This is because the village government ( Pemdes ) that drafts village regulations ( Perdes ) regarding waste management is still minimal.
The Blora Environmental Service ( DLH ) is encouraging the formation of regulations and interventions through village budgets.
Secretary of Blora Environmental Agency Bayu Setyawan said, if guided by regulations, then villages should prepare village regulations regarding waste management.
Currently, of the many villages in Blora, only Wado Village, Kedungtuban District has this village regulation.
"What I know is only Wado Village, because it was conveyed to us," he said to the press.
Bayu said that waste management is not only the task of the DLH.
But up to the village level. Each village has the responsibility to draft regulations to manage waste so that it does not pile up in temporary disposal sites ( TPS ).
"I hope other villages will follow the example of Wado Village, because the responsibility for waste management lies in the village and is the responsibility of the village government," he explained.
According to him, the village government does not only draft regulations, but can also intervene with the village budget.
Also form a waste bank that can recycle waste produced by village communities.
"Not only are regulations being drafted, the budget is also being touched upon," he said.
He also explained that if villages have a shared spirit to resolve the waste problem in the region, it will have an impact on the lifespan of final disposal sites (TPA) being longer.
Because the volume of waste entering the landfill is reduced.
"If the management is carried out in the village, it does not end up in the TPA, the smaller the volume of waste, the longer the life of the TPA," he explained.
He emphasized that the central and regional governments are currently concentrating on solving the waste problem.
The effort is shown by the waste management into fuel. Later, land owned by the district government in Cepu District will be prepared .
"From the central government, there is a point of emphasis that waste management is a priority scale down to the village level," he added.
The average waste production at TMA Temurejo Blora and TPA Tambakromo Cepu is around 250-280 tons per day. Such as household waste, to waste from various markets in Blora.
He also emphasized that the Temurejo TPA was estimated to still be usable within five years when it was first built.
After that, there is a sanitary landfill system , the life of the landfill can be longer, around seven to ten years. (Endah / IST )
