Prince Pojok was Duke of Tuban for 42 years, from 1619-1661.

One of his legacies while occupying this position was giving the name of the village in Blora.

Karangnongko Village & Sasak

It is said that during the Grebeg Maulud Tahun Dal which falls every eight years, all the Regents/Dukes in Java came to Mataram and met with Sri Sultan who at that time was held by Amangkurat I to report on the implementation of their respective duties.

As the Duke of Tuban, Prince Pojok also came to Mataram, escorted by several of his men.

On his way home from Mataram, Sunan Pojok Blora rested under a jackfruit tree.

Because the area did not yet have a name, Prince Pojok named it Karangnangka.

His journey continued through an area that was still a wilderness.

In order to get through it, Sunan and his men had to  cut down  the forest.

Therefore, the place was then named Sasak Village.

Blora and Alon alon

The journey was continued slowly ( alon-alon ) because it passed through areas with muddy or slippery ground.

The area was then named Blora (from the word Belor which means mud).

Because the Sunan's entourage walked  slowly , the place was called  the town square .

Prince Pojok then founded a place of worship located to the west of Blora Square, which is now the Baitunnur Blora Grand Mosque.

Sunan Pojok Blora was blessed with three sons, namely Prince Kleco, Raden Sumodito, and Raden Dipoyudo.
