Regarding the Most Honorary Workers in the Environment, This is the Blora Education Office's Denial

INFOKU, BLORA –When confirmed, the Blora Regency Education Office (Disdik) said that there were no longer any honorary teachers in their area.

Head of the Blora Regency Education Office, Sunaryo, stated that the elimination of honorary teachers had been carried out since March 2025.

The elimination followed the issuance of a Circular Letter (SE) concerning the Arrangement of Non-ASN Employees which was sent to the relevant regional apparatus organizations (OPD).

"Dismissed since March 2025 according to the regent's circular. If the school appoints, it means the school also dismisses," said Sunaryo when met by reporters at his office.

Sunaryo added that currently there are no longer any honorary teachers working in his area.

He also admitted that he did not know the number of honorary teachers who previously worked in schools, both at the elementary school (SD) and junior high school (SMP) levels.

"Yes, that's what the school knows, we don't collect data, and we don't dare to collect data, there is already a ban, it's impossible for us to collect data. So we have warned not to raise it again," he said.

Meanwhile, the Principal of SMPN 1 Blora, Ainur Rofiq, confirmed that his party had dismissed two honorary teachers who had served at his school.

"They have been dismissed according to instructions on March 3, 2025. Previously there were two honorary teachers," said Ainur when contacted by the press.

Volunteer Power

The Head of Kedungjenar Elementary School, Maskaryana, said something similar in a press statement that there were no longer any honorary teachers at his school.

He revealed that the term honorary teacher has now been replaced with volunteer staff.

"There are still 6 people who are volunteers, because there is no such thing as honorary workers," he said.

Maskaryana admitted to being confused by the elimination of honorary teachers, considering that the need for teaching staff is still very much needed to support the teaching and learning process.

"Yes, because we need and lack teachers, like there is only one sports teacher, there should be three so we actually need them too. So it's a dilemma," he said.

With the replacement of the term, volunteers who are not registered in the basic education data (Dapodik) will not receive an honorarium.

"Yes, there is no honorarium, because volunteers cannot be budgeted through BOS, they don't have Dapodik," he added.

Previously, the implementation of Law Number 20 of 2023 concerning state civil apparatus (ASN Law) had a major impact on the fate of honorary workers in Blora Regency.

Based on the law, there are only two categories of ASN, namely civil servants (PNS) and government employees with cooperation agreements (PPPK), so honorary workers must be eliminated and are no longer allowed to work in government circles.

Deputy Chairman of the Blora Regional People's Representative Council (DPRD), Siswanto, revealed that the majority of honorary workers are in the education department.

"Around seven hundred honorary teachers are threatened with layoffs due to the implementation of the ASN Law," he said when met by journalists at his residence in Sambongrejo Village, Ngawen District, last Sunday.

Siswanto added that the local government does not yet have a solution regarding the fate of hundreds of honorary teachers who are threatened with dismissal due to the implementation of the ASN Law.

"If there is no solution, of course they initially teach or serve, but then don't teach, well this is the same as laying off people," he said. (Endah / IST )
