DPRD Commission A Asks for Increased Digital Security System Budget

INFOKU, BLORA –It must be admitted that several cases of hacking of the Blora Regency Government (Pemkab)  website  last year showed the weakness of the  digital security system  . 

Lack of skilled personnel and budget support are the causes.

Commission A  of the Blora DPRD  requested that the district government tighten the digital security system.

Head of Statistics Division of the Blora Communication and Information Service ( Dinkominfo ) Sri Widayaningsih revealed that  the BPPKAD website  hacking case requires the district government to cooperate with the National Cyber ​​and Crypto Agency ( BSSN ) if the website  is attacked.

Currently, it is still in the analysis process to find out the cause of the easy hacking.

"We followed up by inviting the BSSN team to conduct a forensic audit," he said.

This effort was made because the party realized that  the human resources  it had were not qualified enough.

However, the party is still trying to always upgrade with  training.

"Even so, it is not as capable as BSSN people," he stressed.

He admitted that the  website security budget  was budgeted at around Rp 50 million. This amount was deemed insufficient to maintain security.

Only for cyber team operations and security provision such as  secure socket layer  ( SSL ) or  encryption-based internet security  and pen test.

"For now, our security is SSL,  firewall , and monitoring each website. So, if there is an attack, it will be immediately removed, followed up," he explained.

According to him, an additional budget for digital security is needed.

So,  the  managed website is not easily attacked by hackers or other hacking models.

Meanwhile, Member of Commission A of the Blora DPRD, Sakijan, said that his party wanted digital security to be improved.

It is important to do this to secure data. So that it is not easily stolen and used for unwanted things.

"We suggest that the district government, in this case the Communication and Information Office, improve security even more," said the Nasdem Party politician.

Sakijan said, although this year there is an efficiency policy, his party will try to ensure that digital security,  the district government website  gets additional budget in the  upcoming revised APBD . (Endah/ IST )
