Many Women Lose Jobs, Cause of Increasing Unemployment in Blora

INFOKU, BLORA –In 2024, Blora experienced an increase in unemployment, allegedly because residents who were already working lost their jobs

On average, those who are vulnerable to losing their jobs are  women .

The district government will evaluate the plan to bring in  investors  to open up  employment opportunities .

Head of the Blora Industry and Manpower Service ( Dinperinaker ) Endro Budi Santoso explained that the number of  the 2024 workforce  will be 578,103 people, divided into 311,940 men and 227,714 women.

The number is down from the previous year.

From the results of the calculations, women dominate the unemployment figures.

"It is indicated that those who move from the workforce to not being in the workforce are mostly women," he told the press.

Endro continued, this indication can be seen from the labor force participation rate ( TPAK ).

The number of women has decreased compared to men. His party has also consulted the figure to the  Central Java Provincial Government (Pemprov)  ( Jateng ).

"There are indications that those who were previously  workers , their families are no longer working, and are no longer in the workforce," he stressed.

He added that the  agricultural business sector  was experiencing a decline in the workforce.

Likewise in the  mining sector . If associated with the growth of gross regional domestic product ( GRDP ), the mining sector has indeed experienced  a contraction .

"Perhaps it can be indicated by the number of workers also experiencing a decline," he explained.

From the data he has, the working population according to the main job sector in agriculture has decreased, from 43.52 percent in 2023, down to 42.98 percent in 2024.

Regent  Arief Rohman  said that the increasing unemployment rate was an evaluation this year.

The party plans to increase employment opportunities in the coming year.

"This is an evaluation in 2024, we want to move forward on unemployment by creating jobs," he said.

Arief Rohman also added that the district government has now received investors to open up employment opportunities.

Likewise, there are now cinemas in two locations which of course opens up opportunities to recruit employees.

In addition, his party will foster young people who are still unemployed so that they are ready to work or create new jobs.
