Meanwhile, the Head of Blora Dinporabudpar Iwan Setiyanso said that the hundreds of gunungan were presented to commemorate the 275th Anniversary of Blora Regency.
"Grebeg Gunungan is intended as an expression and form of gratitude from the government and people of Blora Regency on its 275th Anniversary, for the abundance of blessings and grace from God Almighty, especially in the form of food. Even the Regent of Blora also gave gunungan to the community," he explained.
The Mountains of Lanang and Wadon
There are two symbolic categories of gunungan, namely gunungan lanang and gunungan wadon which symbolize fertility.
That fertility basically comes from lanang and wadon (male and female), so that they can have children.
Likewise, in agriculture there is the Goddess of Fertility who is symbolized as wadon and lanang.
The lanang mountains contain good agricultural wulu wetu products ranging from polo kependem, polo kespar and polo gemandul.
Meanwhile, gunungan wadon is a processed food or can be called market snacks.
Grebeg gunungan was stormed by both students and the community to get vegetables such as kale, corn, apples and oranges, long beans and others, as well as various foods such as cakes, krecek, crackers, brondong and apem.
"It was so much fun, hopefully it will be a blessing, I will give this to my mother to cook at home," said Dita, a vocational school student while carrying spinach and eggplant. (Setyorini)
