Access to District II Ledok PEFC Blocked by Residents

INFOKU, BLORA – Feeling that the additional recruitment of workers  in the  District  II  Pertamina  EP Field Cepu Zone 11 field was not accommodated, residents of Ledok Village  , Sambong District were disappointed. 

Thus, dozens of residents of Ledok Village blocked  access to the road  to the field yesterday (30/10).

The residents do not want to open the road if they are not given certainty about additional workers.

They blocked the road using bamboo and unfurled  banners  containing the residents' demands.

They demanded that Petrowell, as Pertamina's vendor, recruit more than one local worker.

Mediation between residents, the village head, the Sambong Police Chief, Pertamina, and Petrowell was carried out at the Ledok Village Hall, but reached a dead end.

One Ledok resident who did not want to be named said that six workers were recruited, but only one person came from Ledok.

Employed for  workshops  or garages. Meanwhile, three people came from  East Java  and two others came from Nglobo Village and other villages.

"Residents are asking for additional workers from Ledok, not just one person," he said.

Residents requested that at least two or three people be prioritized for the existing vacancies.

Because, of the  14 security guard vacancies  on duty, only two security guards are Ledok residents.

The residents' action was met with tight security from members of  the Blora Police , Sambong Police, and  TNI members .

Petrowell

Pertamina's operational vehicle activities were also disrupted due to the action.

In fact, residents also sent home Petrowell workers who wanted to work.

"Before there is certainty, we plan to keep the road access blocked," he stressed.

Meanwhile, Pertamina Field Relation Cepu Sutijak explained that there had been a meeting at the village hall regarding the demands of Ledok residents.

The meeting was mediated by security forces. However, they have not yet reached a common ground, and residents continue to ask for additional workers.

"Residents insisted on asking for workers, we have accommodated them, but they asked for more," he said.

Sutijak said that regarding the recruitment of new workers that residents had complained about, he admitted that he had socialized it in the village and met several times with community leaders.

That. informs that there is one vacancy for workers recruited through Petrowell.

"For this recruitment, we are in accordance with the ring 1 area. Not only in Ledok," he explained.

He explained that the recruitment mechanism is for each village to apply for more than one person.

The recruitment process is assessed based on the results of administrative materials, tests, interviews, and  medical check-ups  (MCU), as well as recommendations from the village head.

"We have offered to coordinate the recruitment of another Petrowell with the Village Head, but they don't want to, they keep forcing us," he explained.

Sutijak emphasized that his party had offered workers in addition to the recruitment carried out by Petrowell recently, but residents still refused.
