There were 266 cases of dengue fever in Blora, 12 people died

INFOKU, BLORA – From the data obtained, there were 266 cases of dangue hemorrhagic fever (DBD) recorded throughout 2023. 

Of that number , 12  people  died   . There are ten sub-districts that will be the locations with the most dengue fever cases in 2023.

Head of the Blora Health Service (Dinkes) Edy Widayat revealed that there were 266 cases of dengue fever last year. A total of 12 sufferers died because of the Aedes Aegypti mosquito.

The large number of dengue fever cases is one of the reasons why the emergency room at Blora Regional Hospital is full of patients.

"Even though not all ERs are filled with dengue fever patients. "Recently there has been an increase in dengue fever cases, for this reason residents must be alert," he explained.

Edi explained that the distribution of dengue fever cases was quite large in 10 sub-districts. In Blora City there were 37 cases, Ngawen 29 cases, Kunduran 25 cases, Tunjungan District 26 cases. Furthermore, Cepu District had 23 cases, Randublatung had 23 cases, Japah had 17 cases, Bogorejo had 12 cases, and Banjarejo District had 12 cases.

The erratic  weather  and  high intensity of  rain  recently have also triggered an increase in dengue fever cases. He reminded residents to be alert to dengue attacks.

Regarding  prevention ,  fogging  or  fumigation  was intensified, last week as many as 90 houses in Tegalgunung Village, Blora City.

"The Health Department always acts quickly when dengue cases are discovered," he said.

Fogging aims to control disease vectors, especially mosquitoes. Only effective in killing adult mosquitoes, not mosquito larvae, eggs or larvae.
