INFOKU, BLORA -The Regent of Blora, Arief Rohman, asked all his staff to increase vigilance and preparedness to anticipate potential hydrometeorological disasters, such as floods and landslides entering the peak of the rainy season.
Apart from preparing personnel and infrastructure for disaster management, the Regent also requested that BPBD open a disaster complaint post for the community.
He expressed this when leading the Preparedness Call and Disaster Management Equipment Show in Blora Regency, Friday (1/12/2023), at the Blora Regency Square.
"To all elements of disaster management to increase response time when a disaster occurs, try to be present at the first opportunity so that residents will feel protected, including opening a room for public complaints, perhaps BPBD has a post that is on standby 24 hours when there is a disaster, all stakeholders can be coordinated, and of course this coordination function is important," explained the Regent.
The Regent said that we have now entered the rainy season and will reach the peak of the rainy season in January and February 2024 which has the potential to increase hydrometeorological disasters, such as floods and landslides.
"Therefore, it is our obligation to always remind the public to increase their vigilance, especially residents who live in areas prone to floods and landslides," he explained.
He gave an example, that the day before (30/11/2023), in Blora Kota District there was heavy rain accompanied by strong winds, and uprooted 7 trees.
For this reason, we ask the community, volunteers and BPBD, if they find a tree that has the potential to fall and endanger the community, to immediately report it.
"For the community, BPBD, if there is the potential for a tree to fall and so on, it will be reported immediately and later it can be coordinated with the relevant OPD so that it can be anticipated, and not wait until it happens. "If the tree technically deserves to be felled or cut, this can be done immediately, of course, in accordance with existing regulations," he added.
The call was attended by the Deputy Regent of Blora, Forkopimda Blora, Heads of OPD and Subdistrict Heads, TNI-Polri, BPBD, Satpol PP, PMI, Community Organizations and Volunteers in Blora Regency. Apart from that, vehicles, various tools and infrastructure for disaster management were also prepared for the rally. (Endah)
