INFOKU, BLORA – Ahead of Eid al-Adha, the Blora regency dispatched 60 sacrificial animal inspectors.
This is to anticipate the sale of animals infected with foot and mouth disease (FMD). Currently, the sale of sacrificial animals is still low.
"We have prepared examination officers, around 60 people. Later they will examine the cows that will be sold for sacrifice," said the Head of the Animal Health Division at the Food, Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries Service (DP4) Blora Tejo Yuwono Tuesday (13/6).
According to Tejo, the number of officers on alert is still lacking. That's because the current population of cows is quite a lot. There should be at least two officers in each district. Maybe even more. Depending on the number of cattle population in the district.

"We are optimizing the existing officers so that they can be maximized for sacrificial animal health checks," he explained.
Tejo revealed, the spread of PMK is currently starting to slope. This was influenced by the already massive distribution of vaccines. About 80 thousand vaccines have been distributed. As many as 58 thousand doses were distributed at the end of last year. Meanwhile, 22 thousand will be distributed this year.
"The distribution is gradual. Alhamdulillah, now the spread of PMK has been sloping,'' he said.

Sugiyono, one of the cattle breeders in Mlangsen Village, Blora City, revealed that officers from DP4 had examined his cows.
As a result, the cows were declared fit for sale for sacrifice. Unfortunately, until now no cows have been sold. Usually before the big day he sells his livestock at the Blora Animal Market.
" There are those who have looked at the cages but haven't bought them yet. I usually sell them at the Pon market," he said. (Endah / IST )
