INFOKU, BLORA – The General Election Supervisory Board (Bawaslu) of Blora has formed a post, as a measure for community supervision of the registration process for prospective legislative candidates (bacaleg).
Complaint posts are used as community input, especially if you find a legislative candidate with a certain professional background, you are required to withdraw when registering.
Blora Bawaslu Chairperson Lulus Mariyonan said the community's input or responses could later be conveyed down to the sub-district and village levels.
There is a prohibition on certain professions according to the Election Law and KPU Regulation Number 10 of 2023 such as TNI soldiers, members of the National Police, state civil apparatus (ASN), village heads (kades) and village officials (perades). They must all be neutral (no politics).
According to Lulus, he has coordinated with the local KPU to ensure that the crucial stages go according to regulations.
"We hope that the person concerned will immediately apply for a resignation letter if he is going to register for a legislative election," he explained.

Lulus said that there were elements of criminal acts that were prone to being violated at the nomination stage for legislative candidates. Namely article 508 of Law Number 7 of 2017 and article 520 of Law Number 7 of 2017 concerning elections.
It is explained in the article that any member of the KPU who does not follow up on Bawaslu's findings in verifying the political parties of candidates for election contestation is punishable by a maximum imprisonment of three years and a fine of Rp. 36 million.

Anyone who intentionally makes fake letters or documents with the intention of using them to become legislative candidates is punishable by a maximum imprisonment of six years and a maximum fine of Rp. 72 million.
The registration for the legislative election ends on May 14. And, for candidates for members of the district DPRD, submit the required documents to the local district KPU. ( Endah / IST )
