DLH Blora Cannot Measure Bengawan Solo Water Quality, Allegedly Polluted

INFOKU, BLORA  Laboratory results for Bengawan Solo water quality seem to be unknown.

This is because the water quality detector belonging to the Blora Environment Agency (DLH) cannot be used.

This condition occurred due to a landslide buried measuring device. DLH has asked service providers to bring in new equipment.

"Until today the ONLIMO is still error. It cannot be used to detect the quality of Bengawan Solo water content. The equipment has not been sent from Jakarta,'' said Head of Pollution Control and Environmental Damage and Management of DLH Biodiversity Blora Gartini yesterday (30/1).

Gartini conveyed that the equipment placed on the banks of the river in Cepu was buried in a landslide.

The tool is adjacent to the water suction pipe belonging to the Cepu PDAM. The landslide resulted in water entering the soil clogged detector.

"Due to the receding condition of the river, currently a lot of waste is also piling up in the watershed (watershed)," he explained.

Gartini explained that a new water quality measuring device was installed this year from a special allocation fund (DAK) with an allocation of around Rp 1.2 billion.

Currently it is still in the service provider maintenance stage. So, for filing a replacement tool when damage occurs is still the responsibility of the provider.

"We have already sent the application. ONLIMO measuring devices were purchased from abroad,'' he explained.

The same tool was previously installed in Kradenan District. However, the tool is claimed to also experience server problems. Thus, water quality measurements cannot be accurate.

"If it is used it does not meet the criteria for water quality conditions," he explained. (Endah / IST )
