INFOKU, BLORA – In the coming school year, schools in Blora which lack students can be a little relieved.
So that this year the local education office (disdik) has not planned to carry out a merger or merger of schools.
The reason, the merger is not a solution to the problem of schools that lack students. It can actually make it difficult for students to complete their education.
Head of the Blora Education Office, Aunur Rofiq, said that his party had ensured that this year there would be no school mergers.

In remote areas the distance from home to school is the main reason. It is feared that the merger will make students drop out of school.
"Even though it is a remote area, this year we will ensure that there will be no merger. We focus on improving other things first, such as literacy levels. Also the focus on teacher welfare is not fixed which is not linear,'' he said.
According to him, school mergers can be carried out if there is population growth in the region.
The merging of schools is carried out in terms of efficiency to improve the quality of education. This population growth can be seen from the number of new student admissions (PPDB) in schools.
"For example there is an increase in population growth in one area could be a factor to combine schools in that area," he explained.
