Blora Students Are Prohibited from Riding Motorcycles to School, Except Those Who Have a SIM

INFOKU, BLORA - The Blora District Education Office (Disdik) has banned motorcycles for junior high school (SMP) and high school (SMA) students, as a step to support the police's efforts.

The Head of the Blora District Education Office, Aunur Rofiq explained that his party would immediately follow up by holding a meeting across related agencies, such as the transportation sector and public transport owners.

"Yes, it's good for safety, but in the future we have to follow up by reactivating public transportation, because it's starting to become rare, so we need to coordinate with the transportation sector too," said Rofiq Tuesday (7/3/2023).

According to him, the steps taken by the police were very innovative in reducing the number of accidents caused by these students.

Moreover, most of these students are also not old enough and have a driving license (SIM).

His party also admitted that many students used motorized vehicles for school purposes, even though the motorbikes they were driving were not parked at school.

"I see that there are no (student) vehicles in schools, those that are left outside the school. Yes, because the rules are not old enough, so according to the rules, we will continue to support (police efforts) as well," he explained.

Aunur Rofiq explained that in the near future he would summon school principals to socialize the steps taken by the police.

"Yes, later we will coordinate the socialization to schools and the schools will convey it to the parents of students, and we will also have a coordination meeting with the school principal," he explained.

Previously it was reported, the Blora Police Traffic Unit (Satlantas) banned students from using motorized vehicles.

This is in accordance with the circular letter dated 2 February 2023 addressed to the Heads of Middle Schools and High Schools in the Blora Regency, regarding an appeal to students not to use motorized vehicles.

In the circular, the reason for the police making the letter was because of the large number of traffic violations and minimizing the fatalities of traffic accident victims, which befell students as the next generation of the nation and the pride of their parents.

So the Blora Police Traffic Unit appealed to the school principal to prohibit students who do not have a SIM (driving license) from using motorized vehicles.

In this regard, the Blora Police Traffic Unit will take action against traffic violations with fines, if students are found still using motorized vehicles when leaving or returning from school . (EndahIST )
