INFOKU, BLORA – Cases of foot and mouth disease (FMD) in cattle are sloping.
The Blora Regency Government has adopted a policy of reopening the animal market at the beginning of Ramadan. Currently, the task force team is focusing on FMD vaccination and pursuing herd immunity in cattle.
Head of Animal Health Service for the Food, Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries Service (DP4) of Blora Tejo Yuwono said the number of cattle affected by FMD has decreased compared to two months ago.
This conclusion was drawn after a joint meeting of 16 districts yesterday (16/31).
"Results of the evaluation meeting with the task force for each sub-district, the PMK case has been sloping," he said.

This condition is the basis for reopening the animal market. The regency government plans to open an animal market on March 23.
Coinciding with the fast of Ramadan. There is no special inspection of cattle in and out of the market. ''All animal markets will be opened again, there is no guard from the task force, we are focusing on vaccination," he explained.
Tejo explained that there were 337 cattle PMK cases out of a total of 4,959 cases.

Recovered 3,998 tails from last year's accumulation. Meanwhile, PMK vaccination has reached 67 thousand head.
To achieve communal immunity or herd immunity , 70 to 80 percent of the cattle population in Blora is needed. (Endah / IST )
