INFOKU, Cepu, BLORA – For about two hours, heavy rain hit the Cepu sub-district yesterday (19/10). Suddenly the local people were shocked by the water delivery and there was a flood.
As of 20.30 last night, the flood had not subsided, inundating the urban Cepu area.
Covers four areas. They are Cepu, Balun, Karangboyo, and Mulyorejo villages.
The flood level reached more than 1 meter. The intensity of the rain is quite high, causing the water to be unable to be accommodated by the drainage which is currently experiencing narrowing. Finally, the water spilled into people's homes.
"Water has entered people's homes, on roads the flood level is as high as an adult's chest," said Head of Cepu Sub-district Development Slamet Dwi Cahyo.
Slamet said that his house in Balun Village was also affected. The water entered his house at the height of an adult's knee. While on the streets around the chest of adults.
According to him, the flood was caused by the heavy rain intensity. So that the water spills onto the streets and enters residential areas.
"Hopefully the flood will recede quickly and will not bring disaster," he hoped.
The Rapid Response Team (TRC) Blora Suroto explained that floods hit four areas in Cepu District. including Cepu, Balun, Karrangboyo and Mulyorejo Villages. The cause is heavy rain with a duration of 1 to 2 hours.

"The cause of heavy rain from the north of Sambong ran here, a height of about 1 to 1.5 meters," he explained.
Suroto explained that currently the team is on standby at the location and carrying out evacuations, residents with low settlements are currently being secured to high places.
