Blora Health Office Temporarily Stops Sales of Syrups


INFOKU, BLORA - The Blora District Health Office appealed to the public to temporarily refrain from using and buying syrup-type drugs.

This was conveyed by the secretary of the Health Office Wilys Yuniarti while attending the Preparedness and Disaster Management Equipment Event for 2022/2023, at the Blora District Square, Thursday (20/10/2022).

All pharmacies in Blora district have been given a circular from the Central Java Provincial Health Office.

The Ministry of Health has also instructed all existing pharmacies to temporarily stop the sale of all medicines in syrup form to the public.

This instruction is issued as an early warning effort for cases of kidney failure disorders, which attack children.

"All pharmacies in Blora district have been given a circular, and for the time being do not sell syrup-type drugs to the public until an announcement is made from the government," he said.

Regarding how long, Willys explained that pharmacies were asked not to sell syrup drugs until the results of the search and research by the Ministry of Health and BPOM were completed.

The reason, according to the secretary of the Service, is to increase vigilance in the context of preventing kidney disorders.

In addition to pharmacies, the Blora Health Service has also asked all health workers in health facilities to temporarily refrain from prescribing medicines in the form of liquid/syrup availability.
