INFOKU, BLORA - The 2022 Barongan Festival will soon be held by the Blora Regency Government.
The agenda, which is facilitated by the Youth, Sports, Culture and Tourism Office (Dinporabudpar) of Blora Regency is scheduled to take place on November 26, 2022 along Jalan Pemuda, part of Jalan Ahmad Yani, and the Kridosono field in Blora.
The head of the Blora Regency Dinporabudpar, Kunto Aji, represented by the Head of the Cultural Division of the Dinporabudpar Budi Riyanto, explained that until now preparations and data collection have been carried out regarding which Barongan Arts groups will participate in enlivening the festival.
According to him, the Barongan Festival was postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
"As the Covid-19 pandemic recedes, it is now being held again," said Budi Riyanto when giving a speech at the night puppet show on Saturday Pon at the pavilion of the Blora Regent's official residence, Friday (10/28/2022).
The plan, said the Head of Culture Budi Riyanto, who participated in 40 groups, and each group had 8 barongan heads.

"The Barongan Festival in 2022, aims to ground and preserve Blora's barongan art so that it is known both at the national and international levels," he explained.
In addition, it aims to support the tourism industry and the creative economy as well as preserve traditional arts.
He said, Barongan Blora is an ancestral relic that must be preserved and has its own uniqueness.
In this traditional art, according to the Head of Culture Budi Riyanto, the local community's populist traits are reflected, such as spontaneity, kinship, simplicity, roughness, toughness, compactness, and courage based on truth.
"Barongan Blora's legitimacy is getting clearer after getting approval from the Education and Culture Office of Central Java Province as an Intangible Cultural Heritage (WBTB)," he explained.
In addition, according to Budi Riyanto, this event is interesting, especially for content creators to create good documentation and works through digital platforms.
