68 Baduta Children Experience Stunting in Banjarejo Blora


INFOKU, BLORA -The Banjarejo Sub-district for the Acceleration of Stunting Reduction (TPPS) team was asked to immediately deal with 68 children under two years old (baduta) in the local sub-district who were stunted.

This statement was conveyed by the Chairman of the Blora Regency TPPS, Tri Yuli Setyowati, after confirming the Banjarejo District TPPS on Friday (21/10/2022).

Tri Yuli Setyowati stated that the stunting rate in Banjarejo District currently reaches 287 cases, of which 68 are children under the age of five.

For this reason, Deputy Regent Tri Yuli requested that TPPS immediately move to identify these 68 under-fives to be given assistance in nutritional intake and growth and development so that they can get out of the stunting predicate.

Mentioned, the number 287 is indeed a lot. However, those who can still be helped so that their growth can be maximized are those who are still under the age of two or baduta.

“There are 68 baduta in Banjarejo who are stunted. Immediately provide assistance, provide balanced nutritious food intake, so that our future generations can grow optimally," said Tri Yuli Setyowati.

He continued, not only physically healthy, but also healthy intelligence. This is what matters.

Because stunting is not only a failure to grow physically, but his brain growth is disrupted due to wrong parenting.

In addition to guarding existing ones to get out of stunting status, Deputy Regent Tri Yuli also asked that there be no more new stunting cases.

Usually stunting appears one of them because of the product of early marriage. For this reason, as much as possible the village head and sub-district head are asked to disseminate information to the community so that early marriage does not occur in Banjarejo.

"The woman who is still under 19 years old is not ready to get pregnant. If forced, the child's growth is not optimal, born as a stunted child. A social approach needs to be taken, inviting community and religious leaders," he added.

Deputy Regent, Tri Yuli Setyowati, as Chair of the Team for the Acceleration of Stunting Reduction (TPPS) in Blora Regency, confirmed the TPPS at the Banjarejo District level on Friday (21/10/2022).

The inauguration was held in the hall of the Banjarejo Camat Office, followed by the Banjarejo Camat with Forkopimcam. Also elements of the Community Health Center, IBI, Family Planning Counselors, Village Heads and Village PKK Chairmen throughout the Banjarejo District, as well as community leaders.

The District Head of Banjarejo, Hartanto Wibowo, was confirmed as a foster father, coordinator of the acceleration of stunting reduction in the Banjarejo District. Meanwhile, the members come from elements of the Puskesmas, Village Midwives, PKK, Posyandu Cadres, to the Village Heads.

The Head of Banjarejo Sub-district, Hartanto Wibowo, said that currently there are 37 marriage dispensations that fall into the category of early marriage.

For this reason, his party stated their readiness to guard this so that later they would not give birth to stunting children. One possibility is for family planning first until the uterus is ready to conceive.

"For the locus of villages for handling stunting in Banjarejo District at this time are Sendangwungu Village, Balongrejo Village, and Mojowetan Village. However, we also ask other villages to move so that Banjarejo can be stunting free," said Head of Head Hartanto.

In the inauguration of the TPPS in Banjarejo Sub-district, it was also marked by the delivery of basic necessities for people at risk of stunting in collaboration between the Dalduk KB Service and the Indonesian Women Entrepreneurs Association (IWAPI) of Blora Regency at the Sendangwungu Village Hall. The village is one of the locus villages for handling stunting in Banjarejo District. (Setyorini/IST)
