INFOKU, BLORA –The natural beauty of Blora for foreign and domestic tourists will be realized by launching geological tourism or geoheritage.
Currently there are 17 geosite points, after the geopark study of Blora Regency was carried out.
Geoheritage Blora Regency has its own uniqueness. Namely in the form of observation locations for rock outcrops that have an important role in the petroleum system (petroleum system) of the North East Java Basin which has been proven prolific to produce oil and gas.
It is known, the name of Blora Regency comes from the word "Belor" which means mud.
Etymologically the word Blora comes from the word "Bailorah" which means low watery soil.

This is what makes Blora Regency unique. Physiographically, Blora Regency is located in the Kendeng Anticlinorium and Rembang Anticlinorium zones (Van Bemmelen, 1949).
Blora Regent Arief Rohman admitted that the potential for natural tourism in Blora will soon be launched. His name is Geoheritage. There are 17 points spread across several clusters. Start the northeast, northwest, southeast, and southwest clusters.
The details are Pencu Hill (northeast), Sabrangan Forest Park (northeast), Bukit Kunci (northeast), Mount Manggir (northwest), Kidang Cave (northwest), Terawang Cave (northwest) and Sentono Cave (southeast) . Next, the Fm Rock Outcrop (Selorejo), Fm Rock Outcrop (Ngrayong ), Fm Rock Outcrop (Ledok), Fm Rock Outcrop (Mundu) Oro-Oro Kesongo (southwest), Kracakan Ngloram (southeast), Ngandong Site (southeast), Ancient Elephant Fossil Site (southeast), Banyu Geni (southwest) and the Braholo River.
"We want to unite with Bojonegoro. As an oil city, this is our advantage in terms of geohetitage potential," he explained.
Arief Rohman added that tectonically, Blora Regency is the area with the most productive oil fields.
This is what makes Blora Regency have a complex geological diversity. Yatu as an area of the environment for the formation of petroleum which not all areas contained in the Geological Heritage have it.
"From the many geological diversity that exists in Blora district, there are many interesting geological records that need to be used as Geological Heritage. So that its sustainability can be maintained and can be used as a Geological Heritage at the National and International levels," he added.
According to him, he also said that this determination has also gone through a research process. Start collecting secondary data on locations that have potential as geological heritage sites (geosite) by taking into account the uniqueness and diversity of geology (geodiversity), culture and bioecology.

After that, field surveys on selected geosites took into account aspects of uniqueness, diversity and feasibility including access, management, facilities and others.
Next, geosites are grouped based on the proximity of the location and the relevance of the theme and geological history. Furthermore, discussions were carried out through Focused Group Discussions (FGD) with each district and sub-district team resulting in district geoheritage proposals.
After that, the formulation of the proposed geoheritage is submitted to the Government through the Geological Agency of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (KESDM) to be verified and designated as a National Geoheritage. "The research was carried out for 3 months. Starting from mid-August 2021 to November 2021," he concluded. (Endah) #blorakoran
