INFOKU, BLORA -President Joko Widodo inaugurated the Randugunting Reservoir in Blora Regency, Central Java, Wednesday (5/1/2022).
With the dam, Jokowi expects food security in Central Java to improve.
"By saying bismillahirahmanirrahim, the Randugunting Reservoir in Blora Regency, Central Java Province, today I declare it inaugurated," said Jokowi, monitored from a live broadcast of the inauguration broadcast on the Presidential Secretariat's YouTube.
Jokowi said that the reservoir has a water storage capacity of 14.4 million cubic meters and can irrigate around 650 hectares of rice fields in Blora, Pati and Rembang districts.
According to the Head of State, the presence of water is a supporter of food security.
"We hope that the completion of the Randugunting Reservoir will improve our food security, our food independence will get better," said Jokowi.
"Because the key to food security is water and that water will exist if we have as many reservoirs as possible," he said.
