INFOKU, BLORA –Finally, the Blora District Attorney's Office (Kejari) has spoken out regarding the light demand, namely six months' imprisonment in the case of the oil well fire in Gandu Village, Bogorejo District.
As is known, the oil well fire that occurred on Sunday, August 17, 2025 killed five people.
The victim's family accepted the incident as a disaster, which was the reason the prosecutor demanded a light sentence.

The five fatalities were: Tanek died at the scene, while Wasini and Sureni died the day after the incident.
Meanwhile, Yeti died on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at Dr. Sardjito General Hospital, Yogyakarta. Abu Dabi, 2, died on Thursday, September 11, 2025, at Dr. Sardjito General Hospital, Yogyakarta.
In this case, there are three defendants, namely investors and land owners.
The three of them: Suparman, always the landowner and initiator, Suhartono, always the potential investor, and Hartono, also known as Gundul, the drilling executor.
In the prosecution hearing, the public prosecutor (JPU) from the Blora District Attorney's Office only demanded a six-month prison sentence for the defendants. In his demands, the Public Prosecutor (JPU) stated that the defendants were proven to have violated Article 474 paragraph (3) of the Criminal Code in conjunction with Article 20 letter C of Law Number 1 of 2023 concerning the Criminal Code.
Blora District Attorney's Office Head of General Crimes, Samsul Sitinjak, explained to the press that the demands were in accordance with the trial facts and legal facts.
One of the considerations that led to the light sentence was the victim's family.
"In the trial, it was stated that the victim's family accepted the settlement," he explained.
This is proven by the existence of a written statement and minutes of the peace agreement.
So that is the reason for the Public Prosecutor to give a light sentence.
"The victim's family has accepted it as a tragedy. They don't have a problem with it. That's our consideration," he added.
Meanwhile, his team denied rumors that bribes were circulating to reduce the charges. "Regarding bribes, that's a wild rumor. I can assure you that the prosecutor in this case did not accept any money," he explained.

He also emphasized that the prosecutor in this case focused on the trial and legal facts. There were no transactions in the case.
