INFOKU, BLORA - Deputy Regent of Blora Sri Setyorini attended the Annual Members Meeting (RAT) of the Baitur Mulyo Mosque Forest Farmers Group (KTH) which was held in Sambong District, Tuesday (4/8/2026).
The activity carries the theme "From Social Forestry to Food Sovereignty" as an effort to strengthen the management of productive, sustainable forest areas and improve community welfare.
In his remarks, the Deputy Regent expressed his appreciation to the social forest farmers who continue to strive to manage forest areas productively and responsibly.
According to him, the various supports that have been provided by the government are expected to provide real benefits to the community.
"Hopefully, what the government has provided can benefit social forestry farmers. Blora has enormous potential, as approximately 60 percent of its territory is forested, and most of the community lives around it. This potential must be utilized optimally without neglecting forest sustainability," said Sri Setyorini.
The Deputy Regent also invited KTH members to start developing more diverse businesses, not just relying on corn cultivation.
He encouraged the development of egg-laying chicken farming and catfish farming as additional sources of income, while still coordinating with and obtaining permits from forest area stakeholders.
"I will try to seek support through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs to provide catfish fry, chickens, and other necessities. I hope that each household will be able to raise around 50 laying hens, thereby generating additional income for the family," he said.
According to him, proper management of social forestry areas will be one of the pillars of regional and national food security in line with government programs.
Therefore, collaboration between the community, government, and forest area managers must continue to be strengthened so that management runs according to regulations and provides optimal benefits.
Meanwhile, Deputy Chairperson of the Blora Regency DPRD, Lanova Candra, conveyed the DPRD's commitment to continue fighting for the aspirations of the community receiving benefits from social forestry.
He revealed that his party had been working on a CSR program from Pupuk Indonesia covering an area of around 2,000 hectares which had undergone technical verification in 11 villages in three KTH.
"This program is scheduled to kick off next September with a substantial amount of assistance. The target is for around 4,000 farmers to benefit. This momentum must be utilized to increase agroforestry development and restore forest areas to their proper function," he explained. (Setyorini)
