INFOKU. BLORA -Blora Regency appears poised to make a new mark on the national energy security map.
Not only has Bumi Mustika succeeded in becoming a corn barn, it is now projected to become the starting point for the development of a corn-based bioethanol industry in Indonesia.
This emerged during the 1st Quarter Corn Harvest and 2nd Quarter Simultaneous Corn Planting activities in Kutukan Village, Randublatung District, last week.
The Director General of Food Crops at the Indonesian Ministry of Agriculture, Yudi Sastro, revealed the government's grand plan to build a bioethanol factory in Blora.
This step is a follow-up to Blora's status as a self-sufficient corn region.
" God willing, we will start the bioethanol factory in Blora. We will work from upstream to downstream, using bioenergy. Our team will be directly involved in providing support. Blora has enormous corn potential, and now is the time to develop corn ethanol, starting here," he emphasized.
In line with this, Kopassus Commander Lieutenant General TNI Jon Afriandi emphasized the importance of energy sovereignty born from food security.

He appreciated the Blora Regent's steps in facilitating this integration.
" Extraordinary! Corn is not only food but also energy. We hope Blora will become a pilot project. The resources are very suitable. Let's move from Blora for the nation, improving food security and energy sovereignty in Indonesia," said Lieutenant General Jon Afriandi.
Bambang, a local farmer from Randublatung, welcomed this grand plan.
He hopes that this program will not only elevate Blora's name at the national level through corn, but also other supporting sectors.
" We hope that Blora can also become a leading livestock region. From Randublatung, we will elevate Blora's potential to the national level," he said.
Sugar Factory
Meanwhile, Bulog's commitment to sugarcane farmers and GMM
Apart from the corn issue, the presence of the President Director of Perum Bulog, Lieutenant General TNI (Ret.) Ahmad Rizal Ramdhani, brought a breath of fresh air to sugarcane farmers in Blora.
He emphasized Bulog's commitment to overseeing the distribution of farmers' sugarcane harvests and carrying out internal improvements at PT Gendhis Multi Manis (GMM).
" I urge sugarcane farmers not to worry or hesitate. Bulog will help distribute their harvest. We are also processing proposals for improvements to the GMM, including a reorganization of the board of directors involving Blora's best sons and daughters," explained the Bulog President Director.
Meanwhile, the Regent of Blora, Arief Rohman, closed the activity by emphasizing that synergy between the Regency Government, the TNI, the Ministry of Agriculture, and Bulog is the key to realizing community welfare.
"This collaboration is proof that Blora is ready to become a major pillar of national food and energy," he emphasized. (Setyorini)
