Blora Regional Leadership Communication Forum Agrees to Halt Illegal Drilling of New Oil Wells

INFOKU, BLORA -Responding to the development of a conducive situation in Blora Regency, especially with the Community Oil Well Disaster in Gandu Village, Bogorejo, the Blora Regency Forkopimda will immediately hold a Three Pillars Roll Call on Thursday (21/8/2025), at the Blora Regional Secretariat Yard. 

At the Three Pillars Roll Call, the Regional Leadership Communication Forum (Forkopimda) agreed on a circular which would later be disseminated to all villages in Blora Regency.

The Three Blora Roll Call was attended by the Heads of Blora Regency Government OPDs, all sub-district heads, and gathered village and sub-district heads, Bhabinkamtibmas, Babinsa, in Blora Regency.

Ban on Illegal Wells

One of the points agreed upon in the Decree is a request to prohibit drilling activities or drilling new oil wells by the community in the Blora Regency area which are carried out without going through the applicable procedures and regulations.

The circular was signed jointly by the Blora Forkopimda and then in front of the roll call participants, the circular was read by the Blora Police Chief, AKBP Wawan Andi Susanto, SH, SIK, MH, accompanied by the Regent of Blora, Dr. H. Arief Rohman, M.Si and the Chief of Staff of the 0721 Blora Kodim, Mayor Inf. Bani, who was present representing the Dandim, as well as other Forkopimda.

The Police Chief revealed that based on the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Regulation Number 14 of 2025, as well as the direction of the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources on July 29, 2025, and taking into account the incident on August 17, 2025 in Blora Regency, all Forkopimda of Blora Regency have made several decisions.

There are three things that the Police Chief said, namely: One, prohibiting drilling activities/drilling of new oil wells by the community in the Blora Regency area which are carried out without going through the procedures and provisions of applicable regulations;

Two, Permitted use is only for existing oil wells or wells that are already producing in accordance with the provisions of statutory regulations;

Three, if there are violations or criminal acts related to the drilling of new community oil wells, they will be processed in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.

It was conveyed that the oil well fire incident in Gandu Village, Bogorejo, which also caused fatalities and injuries, has attracted attention both in Blora Regency and at the national level.

For this reason, through this Three Pillars Roll Call, Forkopimda wants to align perceptions with the three pillars.

"Therefore, our three pillars gathered this afternoon to jointly convey our perceptions regarding the future management of oil wells in Blora Regency. So, we, along with the Regent, the Military District Commander, the Chief Prosecutor, and the Chief Justice of the District Court, have agreed to issue a joint announcement," he explained.

This is a manifestation of the seriousness and commitment of the Blora Regency Forkopimda to respond to this incident.

"This notice will ask that you post it in your respective villages, including those with existing oil wells. Except for oil wells that already have permits and are regulated by law, which are permitted as long as they don't have permits. Those are not allowed," the Police Chief emphasized. (Setyorini)
