INFOKU, BLORA -Head of Prevention and Control Division of the Blora Regency Regional Health Service (Dinkesda), Prih Hartanto explained that cases of Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) in the local area reached 90 people as of April 2025.

"This number is still low when compared to December 2024 which reached 267 cases," he explained during the socialization of the One House One Friday Movement (GIRIJ) at the Randublatung District hall which was attended by village officials and heads, Tuesday (10/6/2025).

On that occasion, Hartanto invited the public to anticipate DHF cases by monitoring mosquito larvae in each home environment.

"We have conducted GIRIJ socialization in almost all sub-districts in Blora Regency. We have promoted this activity in 10 sub-districts so that the community can play an active role in

"Mosquito Nest Eradication (PSN)," explained Hartanto.

According to him, DHF cases in Blora Regency are always high, so his party is intensifying the socialization of GIRIJ which is considered more effective in eradicating mosquitoes.

In addition, to anticipate dengue fever cases which are always high in the rainy season which is predicted to occur in September.

Hartanto also said that the public believes that eradicating dengue fever mosquitoes can be done through fogging.

In fact, Hartanto explained, mosquito eradication by fogging using insecticides has negative impacts on human, animal and plant health.

"This movement is expected to involve all residents in monitoring the larvae with the hope that eradicating dengue fever larvae will be easier if the Aedes Aegypti mosquito is still in the larval stage. If it has become a mosquito, it is difficult (to eradicate)," added Hartanto.

He hopes that through this movement, people from the grassroots level can play an active role, so that all areas can be free from mosquito larvae.

"We hope that each household will become a Jumantik (specimen), who will later report the results in stages from the bottom to the top which will be coordinated with the health center until it reaches us (Dinkesda)," he said.
