Together with President Prabowo, Blora Participates in the Simultaneous Rice Harvest in 14 Provinces

INFOKU, BLORA - Efforts to strengthen food security continue to be intensified by the Blora Regency Government. Monday (7/4/2025), Blora Regent Arief Rohman, together with Deputy Regent Sri Setyorini, Forkompinda and accompanied by the Head of the Food, Agriculture, Livestock, and Fisheries Service (DP4) of Blora Regency, Ngaliman, carried out a mass rice harvest in Jepangrejo Village, Blora District. 

The rice harvest in Blora coincided with the simultaneous rice harvest in 14 provinces throughout Indonesia, together with President Prabowo Subianto who carried out a simultaneous rice harvest in Majalengka, West Java.

In a YouTube broadcast on the Presidential Secretariat channel, President Prabowo was seen accompanied by Coordinating Minister for Food Zulkifli Hasan and Minister of Agriculture Andi Amran Sulaiman, while harvesting rice in the fields.

The Regent of Blora said that the development of the agricultural sector, including rice, corn and soybean commodities, is one of the priorities that we will continue to develop in Blora Regency.

Considering that Blora has great potential for development, it has the potential to increase national corn production.

“Blora Regency is the 6th largest rice producer in 2024, and the 2nd (second) largest corn producer in Central Java.

"This means that Blora is the national corn barn," explained Regent Arief.

According to him, the role of the agricultural sector not only contributes to regional food security, but also contributes greatly to overall economic development.

Both regarding farmer income, regional income, and labor absorption.

For this reason, continued Regent Arief, as a form of support and concern from the Blora Regency government in the agricultural sector, several efforts have been made.

Among them, assistance sourced from the APBN and APBD is in the form of seed assistance and production facilities as well as facilities and infrastructure.

"We certainly thank the Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Indonesia for his commitment and concern for farmers in Blora district," he said.

Food self-sufficiency is one of the priority programs stated in the Asta Cita of the Government of the President and Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka.
