After Flood in Cepu, Deputy Regent Leads Community Service

INFOKU, Cepu, BLORA -The Blora Regency Government has collaborated with a number of parties, including volunteers, to carry out real cleaning actions in a number of rivers that are thought to be one of the causes of flooding in the Cepu area, Tuesday (14/4/2025).

This activity was carried out because recently there was still flooding in the Cepu area during heavy rain.

Blora Deputy Regent, Sri Setyorini directly led the community service activities to clean the river flow in seven areas of Cepu District.

Primarily, the clean-up was carried out in the Tuk Buntung area, which was badly affected by the recent floods.

The Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda), DLH, BPBD, PUPR Service, Large River Basin Center (BBWS), Cepu Forkopimcam, volunteers, and local communities were involved in the community service.

They worked together to clean up the river flow in several locations in Cepu. It started with a morning assembly led by Budhe Rini, the nickname of the Deputy Regent of Blora, in the yard of the Cepu District Office.

Next, all participants went directly to the field to clean up the garbage that was blocking the river flow. Especially in the Tuk Buntung area which is often affected by flooding, including the recent flood.

"We, together with the community, TNI, Polri, DLH, BPBD, PUPR, and volunteers, work together in this community service. This is a real form of joint efforts in overcoming the flood problem that occurred in Cepu,'' said Sri Setyorini.

Deputy Regent Rini said that the flooding that occurred around Tuk Buntung was caused by piles of rubbish and the shallowing of the river flow.

Therefore, the Blora Regency Government deployed heavy equipment to dredge the soil deposits in the river.

"This effort will not succeed without the support and awareness of the community. We ask that the community not throw garbage into the river, because the impact is very detrimental to all of us," he concluded. (Heru)
